Richard Norton received a Civic Award in 2013 for his commitment to the Wokingham Winter Carnival Committee.
His Nomination follows:-

Richard has been a member of the Wokingham Winter Carnival Committee for many years and is the organiser of the stalls. This particular tasks is huge and involves many months of planning. He liaises with the various Charity and Trade stall holders and allocates pitches, negotiates prices and solves any problems that occur leading up to the event and on Winter Carnival day itself.

He also organises a large group of volunteers from the Round Table to assist in marshalling the event. The work that Richard does is fundamental to the success of the Winter Carnival. His organisational ability and his planning skills are the qualities that have been instrumental in producing a successful Winter Carnival over many years.

The Wokingham Winter Carnival is a community event which also enable groups to raise money for their charities. People benefit by attending and enjoying the event and participating in the stalls that Richard allocates and raising money for worthwhile charities.
