Geoff Wilde received a Civic Award in 2016 for his commitment to the role of Governor Chair of St. Crispin’s School. His Nomination follows:-

The students, staff, fellow Governors and the community of St Crispin’s school all equally benefit from Geoff’s wise leadership as Chair of Governors.

Geoff gives unstintingly. He is most generous with his time working many hours and making himself available at all times. As a Chair of Governors he motivates, encourages and leads a team of volunteers and expertly balances this with holding professionals to account. As Chair of Governors Geoff is regularly called upon to offer advice and wisdom in all matters concerning the school, these are often sensitive in nature. He does this aspect of his role with a great degree of care and diligence. He is exceptionally well informed and has developed high level of expertise regarding education.

St Crispin’s is judged by OFSTED as being a good school with outstanding features. It is a highly oversubscribed school with just under 900 preferences for 189 places. Students achieved significantly above the national average at both GCSE and A-level. It is truly an inclusive school. As Chair of Governors Geoff significantly plays his part in this success. In particular setting and supporting the strategic direction of the school. A successful school secures good long term economically secure futures and develops well rounded young citizens for Wokingham. It contributes to a very positive local community spirit.
