Chris Pape received a Civic Award in 1997 for her founding of Caritas, a charity to help young homeless people, and in 2008 in recognition of her preventative work she was doing regularly with and for young people who have nowhere to go and nothing to do.
At that time Chris was a Youth Street Worker with the JAC team, walking the streets engaging with young people and building relationships. Chris invited them to the Baptist Church where all kind of activities were on offer and other volunteers were able to relate and listen.
