Ann Rosemary Wenbourne was born on 21st April 1934 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London to Percival Joseph Wenbourne and Gladys Elizabeth, nee Pratten.
Her family eventually settled in Staines and it was here that she married Heslop Arnold Edward Potts and subsequently she moved to Crowthorne in 1961.
In 1978 she was employed by Wokingham Town Council as committee clerk/finance assistant before being promoted to Town Clerk in 1979, being the first woman in this post.
She became heavily involved in public enquiries into planning development.
In 1984 she resigned as town clerk to look after her son who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, he did eventually make an excellent recovery.
In March 1986 she became part time Clerk of Winkfield Parish Council.
Ann, in 1990 became a lay minister at St. Sebastian’s Church Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham Without.
After her retirement at the age of 65 she became involved with the Mityana Charity in Uganda.
Ann was involved in the setting up the original Citizens’ Advice Bureau of Wokingham in 1977 becoming a trustee.
