Jenny Gilbert was given a Civic Award in 1997 for her fundraising for the NSPCC.
There follows an extract from the Wokingham Times in 1997: –
“Jenny Gilbert has been awarded for her efforts in juggling a job as a doctor’s receptionist alongside her tireless fundraising for the NSPCC. Jenny, aged 58, of Finchampstead Road, said she was really surprised to be nominated and that she got involved with the NSPCC because of her love of children. She has been in the Wokingham branch of the NSPCC for over 16 years and raises funds funds at such events as the Bearwood flower festival.”
