Jill Wise was given a Civic Award in 1997 for her tireless work for the Salvation Army.
There follows an extract from the Wokingham Times in 1997.
“Jill Wise of Longs Way, Wokingham was put forward for an award due to her tireless work for the Salvation Army, All Saints’ Church and WADE.
Jill, aged 60, was recently widowed and has a grown up family. She helps to raise funds for the Salvation Army and WADE, does cleaning duties for All Saints’ Church and still manages to find time to work at Waitrose.”
