About Punch Ladle

A silver punch ladle; the round part chased bowl, with everted lip and bearing engraved monogram initials “R.M.S.” in base of bowl (it is not known to whom this refers) with turned wood baluster handle and having plain bifurcated terminal.

There appears to be no record as to how this item came to be in the Council’s possession.

The hallmark is dated 1748 and the manufacturer was John Pollock based in London.
