About Claret Jugs and Glasses

These consist of a set of four Claret Jugs and 30 tumbler style glasses.

The jugs are of reproduction George IV style of a bulged cut and moulded glass bodies with electroplated neck and hinged cover, with chased floral and scroll decoration with electroplated scroll handle.

The tumbler glasses, crystal glass with diamond cut design.

They were presented to the Town Council by Councillors J P and Mrs C M Green, Mayor and Mayoress 1987 – 1989 at the termination of their second year in office.

These decanters are used at all full Council meetings for iced water and at other prestigious occasions.
