There follows an extract from the Wokingham Times in 1999: –
“Janet Wickham was given an award for her work improving the lot of mentally ill people. Mrs Wickham, of Oxford Road, Wokingham, came to the town 30 years ago with her family and got involved in the Red Cross. She is now a member of the Wokingham Mental Health Forum and has spent years doing voluntary work at the mental health centre in Reading Road. Mrs Wickham said “I am humbled, honoured and delighted, in that order””
